CBSE Announces Change in Marking Scheme : Board Exam 2020

The CBSE board exams for the academic year 2019-20 are around the corner. The date sheets for class 10, 12 CBSE exams are expected to come out in the first week of January. The board has also introduced changes in the marking scheme to be carried from this year for class 10, 12 students.

New marking scheme class 10

The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a new circular with the new passing marks pattern described. As per the new circular, the students of class 10 have to score at least 33 percent in practical and theory in every subject in order to clear the exam.

New marking scheme class 12

For the students of class 12 will be score minimum 33 percent marks in practical, theory and assessment separately in order to pass. For students to clear the board, it is mandatory to score 23 marks in subjects with 70 marks and 26 in subjects with 80 marks.

Assessments for theoretical subjects

In the theoretical subjects, students will have to submit an internal assessment from this year. The paper for subjects Hindi, English, Mathematics etc consisted of a total 100 marks but now, an internal assessment of 20 points will be counted. Out of the out marks dedicated to the assessments, students need to score a minimum of 6 marks.

According to the board, information about the new pattern has been sent to schools. Now schools will have to conduct pre-board examination on this pattern so that students will be able to prepare for the board examination. CBSE has instructed all schools to conduct 10th and 12th pre-board examinations from December 16 to 30, for pre-board examination, the board has released the time table.
